Deathrune was one of the lesser known bands from the active New York Death Metal scene in the early 90's. Musically they bring to mind Incantation, Immolation, Baphomet and perhaps Mortician's EPs, playing the typical NY-style dark Death Metal. They disbanded in the mid 90's and ex-members have since gone onto more successful bands (though not always better). Favorite track: Dark Tides Of Yuggoth.

Deathrune is a classic Death Metal band from US drawing influences from the genre's greats and also contributing to the sound that became known as New York Death Metal - this band isn't just about the grooves, it's dark, it's thick, it's rotten. This is for the fans of Morpheus Descends, Baphomet, even Incantation - not surprising since Deathrune has the old Incantation guitarist in the line-up. This is a band from 1991 and what you have here is a discography reissue of some of the most powerful and solid NYDM ever recorded.
